CAIRO — An Egyptian court has sentenced four men to prison for committing homosexual acts. The Egyptian press reports the men were convicted on grounds of holding sex parties and dressing as women.
The ruling handed down by the Egyptian court received tremendous applause from Egyptians and Africans at large.
Three of the men were given eight years in prison, while a fourth received a three-year sentence. The names of the men were not published, ostensibly to avoid embarrassing their families.
The court rulings against the four men are subject to appeal.
It will be recalled that Nigeria set the pace earlier this year for the African continent with its bold stand in enacting an anti homosexual law. The anti homosexual law in 38 African countries enjoy the overwhelming support of Africans.
