We condemn in its entirety, ploys by the incumbent government in Nigeria to rig the presidential elections on Saturday.
The burning of card readers in Abia, Anambra and Plateau states of Nigeria is criminal. It negates the principles of free and fair elections.
It’s criminal for the Nigerian government to harbor any intentions of declaring the elections in these 3 states inconclusive via the premeditated burning of card readers in these state. The intentions are clear: burn the card readers, organize a second poll in these states and redeploy thousands of security personnel to rig the elections.
We still recall vividly how the Ekiti and Osun state elections were rigged in similar manner in Nigeria.
The international Court of Justice (ICJ) and the entire international community must remind President Buhari of the dare consequences of his actions and call him to order.
