Flashback: Our April celebrity of the month

Our Celebrity of the month for April, Yoweri Museveni

Born to a family of cattle famers on 15th of August, 1944.

He studied political science and economics at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania in 1970;

Became chairman of a leftist student group allied with African liberation movements.

Founded the Front for National Salvation, which helped overthrow Idi Amin in 1979.

Contested in an election for the office of the president of Uganda in 1980.

Despite losing to Milton Obote in controversial circumstances, he declared himself President of Uganda on January 26, 1986.

He was re-elected to the post on May 9, 1996, and succeeded in writing his name in the sand of time of African history as the continent most dogged strongman.

He stood tall in the mist of western pressure and signed into law an anti homosexual law to assert Uganda’s sovereignty and defend African culture in 2014.

He is our celebrity of the month for April! We present Yoweri Kaguta Museveni into the Civil Rights International hall of fame!!!
