At this defining moment in history, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the people of Israel must stand their ground against growing international pressure for a so-called “two state solution.” The world demands that Israel divide its land once again, but what the global community refuses to admit is that the two state solution already exists. It’s called Jordan.
In 1922, under British mandate, over 75 percent of the ancient Jewish homeland, originally promised for a Jewish national home, was carved out and handed over to Arab leaders. That territory became the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a state with a Palestinian majority population to this day. It was a calculated move to pacify Arab opposition to Jewish self-determination. And yet, even after this massive territorial compromise, Israel is still being told to divide what remains of its historic land.
Let it be stated clearly, Israel is not the obstacle to peace. The real obstacle is the persistent refusal by Arab leadership and radical Islamist factions to recognize Israel’s right to exist, anywhere within any borders. Prime Minister Netanyahu rightly understands that surrendering land to those who glorify terror is not peace, it is capitulation. No other sovereign nation would be asked to divide its capital or cede territory to enemies who do not recognize its legitimacy.
Furthermore, Netanyahu’s defiance of Iranian nuclear ambitions is not just justified, it is a moral duty. Israel cannot, and must not, wait for another Holocaust before taking action. The antisemitic threats from Iran and its proxies are real, and the Jewish state has every right to act preemptively in defense of its people. Those who call for restraint while missiles fall on Israeli towns speak from the safety of moral detachment, not from principle.
To Israel and its courageous leadership, “do not apologize for existing”. Do not negotiate away your inheritance. Jerusalem is the undivided capital of Israel, eternally. The world may forget history, but you must not. Jordan is already the Palestinian state. There is no need, and no justification, for carving out another one from the beating heart of the only Jewish nation on Earth. Stand firm, and let the world adjust to the truth.
