Renowned African religious cleric, His Grace, Most Revered Professor (Member of the Federal Republic of Nigeria-MFR) has cautioned the Nigerian Government to desist from banning importation of essential goods such as second hand cloths otherwise known as ‘okirika’.
Daddy Hezekiah disclosed this while speaking at a media chat in his Church administrative headquarters, Onitsha, Anambra, Nigeria on the occasion of the annual Press Day celebration (Living Christ Mission).
He noted with dismay the situation in which lawmakers raise motions to ban commodities which though of little importance to the rich, are critical to the survival of the common man.
He therefore called on the Nigerian Government not to restrict importation of rice in bid to encourage local farmers considering how challenging it is for the poor to buy rice in mist of competing prices, talk more of when local monopoly is institutionalized. He said competition will serve as encouragement to local farmers to enable them meet up with international standards while urging Nigerian Government not ban rice importation through land borders.
While speaking at the interactive session, Daddy Hezekiah also urged the Federal and State Government of Nigeria to adopt a workable minimum wage system for workers in the country that will end the habitual trend of owing workers. He stressed the need for sincerity and accountability on the side of Governors that collect allocation from the Federal Government as well as need for checks and balances from the Federal Government to ensure allocation are well utilized. Daddy Hezekiah noted the fact that Nigeria is the 20th richest county in the world as recent international publication suggest with the possibility of rising to 10th in nearest future.
Similarly, the Professor of Material and Human Management urged Nigerians to disregard any insinuation that the ongoing BVN registration conducted by banks in Nigeria is a sign of end time and mark of the beast. He urged well-meaning Nigerians to participate in the exercise stressing that arguments of correlations with Biblical mark of beast (666) is unfounded and handiwork of people without adequate understanding of the scriptures.
