The rave of the moment in Nigeria’s education sector, His Grace, Most Revered Professor Daddy Hezekiah [MFR] has made yet another philanthropic declaration with the announcement of partial scholarship for the 500 pioneer students that will grace Hezekiah University (Unihez), Umudi, Imo, Nigeria.
Professor Hezekiah disclosed this while addressing members of his Church on Sunday, 13th September, 2015. He noted the ripple effects of salaries and wages of lecturers and ensuing tuition fees for students. While reiterating his commitment to make the fees of his University to be the “smallest” amongst all private universities in Nigeria, Professor Hezekiah stated that he won’t be deterred towards this commitment nonetheless the reality of huge disparity between the over 20 million naira monthly bill (240 million naira each academic year) for lecturers in contrast with tuition fees of students which even when reduced to the barest minimum doesn’t still suffice as expense. Professor Hezekiah to this end (and rather ironically) announced a 100, 000 naira scholarship for each of the 500 pioneer students that will grace the university notwithstanding the challenge of having to cover the short falls from revenue from tuition. The cumulative sum (50 Million naira) will now be paid into the university account by Professor Hezekiah for the incoming administrators of the institute.

Hezekiah University was licensed by the National University Commission [NUC] on 7th of May, 2015 following fulfillment of requirements. The university is scheduled to conduct its Post UTME for aspiring students on Saturday, 19th September, 2015 at centers as listed on its website www.unihez.com.
