As mixed reactions continue to trail the decision by Nigeria’s electoral umpire INEC to postpone the elections in Nigeria, our on field reporter in Nigeria, Gary Duke caught up with one of the country’s finest professors of Political Science, BOG Nwanolue to ascertain his views on the unpopular decision by his countrymen. Here under is the Press Release that ensued from the Professor following the discussions. He also revealed the names of those who nefariously masterminded the postponement of the elections in Nigeria, with view of crippling the country’s nascent democracy:

It is most regrettable that the INEC postponed the elections of February 16th and March 2nd, 2019, with very loose, ambiguous, flimsy and generally unacceptable reasons, all in a bid to discourage some patriotic, trustworthy, God-fearing, conscientious and responsible Nigerians from exercising the franchise.
The fact is very clear, the postponement was quite a cowardly act propagated and clearly imposed on the INEC by a cabal who had vividly understood that the majority of Nigerians had become disenchanted with their governance.
The INEC boss, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu had been swimming in a very deep ocean is personality contradictions by saying one thing today and doing another thing tomorrow. He should recall his interview in an AIT Osasu show, where he told the world that nothing would make INEC to postpone the elections, maintaining that everything had been put in place, including logistics. Why then shifting the elections arbitrarily, few hours to the D-day?
I therefore call on well-meaing Nigerians not to be discouraged by this unwarranted postponement by the INEC and ruling cabal. One week maybe too much but is already at hand. It is better that we stay in our various constituencies, electoral wards or other places where we registered to exercise our franchise, than developing a very strong political apathy, by refusing to vote at all; by doing so we would be worsening our sufferings for it is better to be patient for one week than being in bondage for another four years, this time around more disastrous. Hence, let all Nigerians utilise the coming Saturday to vote in real democracy, with conscience and profound acumen to reform and transform our economy, a governmental instrument that would be sensitive to the plight of Nigerians, other than remaining a prey in the enclaves of insensitive and conscienceless cabals.
I also call on INEC to ensure that the (5) five million thumbprinted votes caught in possession of some chieftains of a given political party in Kano State, should be burnt publicly to the conviction of the entire world other than making Nigerians “The more you look, the less you see”
Again, the Nigerian Labour Congress should ensure that public and civil servants who have travelled to various places to exercise their franchise should not be sanctioned if they do not report to duty from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd February, 2019, as the postponement saga was not their fault, rather the fault of the INEC and their Dictates. Indeed, Nigerians should still come out in their greater numbers to shame maladministration, bad governance, administrative insensitivity and other forms of man’s inhumanity to his fellow man. This would ensure a lasting end to era of mediocrity, selectocracy and cabalocracy, at the expense of intelligentocracy, democracy and implementable nigeriocentric political formulatocracy and holistic economic stability.
Finally, the Law Enforcement Agencies should, as a matter of urgency, sit up and defend the integrity of this country by calling a spade a spade, not minding whose ox is goad. Simply put, they should not aid rigging or favour any given political party to win by all means, like what happened in Osun and Ekiti states, respectively. Instead, they should disregard every ploy made by some members of any given political party to be used to intimidate, oppress and prevent the electorates from voting for a political party or candidates of their choice, in some quarters where such a party lacks maximum supports of the citizenry, with a concomitant morbid fear and obvious anticipation of failure. The Nigerian Bar Association, the National Assembly, ASUU, Nigerian Medical Association, NANS, etc should peacefully, legally and respectfully rise up to their responsibilities, so that Nigeria would be made a better country to live in.
